It's not too hard to see that everything's rock paper scissors. Say a Warrior gets fed up with this Mesmer saying the Mez could destroy him. Warrior brings Eviscerate spike. Mesmer brings Visions of Regret. Warrior brings energy skills. Mesmer brings e-deny. Warrior switches back to adrenaline.
Elementalist versus Ranger. Ranger brings Broad Head Arrow. Elementalist brings Glyph of Concentration. Ranger brings Distracting Shot. Ele brings Blinding Surge. Ranger brings Antidote Signet. Ele brings Icy Prism. Ranger brings Broad Head Arrow.
Most good skills have a perfect counter and are a perfect counter for something else. It's just a matter of gauging what your opponent's gonna pick, and then backing it up with some skill and strategy. The skill and strategy part is what makes it fun.

PvP less in Random arenas and more in GvG please.
EDIT:
Ok, that was a little rude - but I think it serves it point.
GW PvP is balanced (for the most part) around a 8v8 team (read why HA sucks currently). Anways, people do plan on what they are going to take to counter the metagame. However, the emphasis is more on player skill in 8v8 than 64 skills in the team build. There are a lot of things that can win you matches besides what counters you have...

QFT..... gvg... meh, aegis. HA, meh, wards. since mes's ant carry bsurge effective any more, aegis ftw. conditions are too easy to remove. and if you care that much, bring an anti melee hex or four (spirit, price, both really gay skills)
edit: hexes/ aegis= meta.. blind = not meta.

I think it seriously hurts your credibility to try to prove a skill is good by saying 'we won halls with it'

Credibility only matters for those one cares about, if ;however, that is not the case - you're an insecure person. I'm bordering on arrogant, not insecure; regardless, I meant exactly as I said and not what you've implied. I didn't mean the skill is good because we won halls with it. Players are afraid to try new stuff, there was lots of RT spike then - it seemed like the logical answer. I've won halls with lvl 15 heros, doesn't mean you should do it .
As for personal information on pro-gaming, PM me the question ><.
*edited this post as short as I can so it won't cause the drama again

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...65#post2653665 These threads are similar and equally annoying =P
I do think it's an interesting point to note though (especially for a monk) there is more energy management than just GoLE.
I think gaurdian on a bar instead of aegis would still be pretty good. Something like :
RC, RoF, GoH, Veil, Channeling, Gaurdian, Shielding Hands (or SoA) and Spirit Bond.
Then on the healer :
p-drain, dwaynas, orison, lod, veil, channeling, infuse, draw conditions.
Then ward of foes. This disables the need for a dedicated blind person. Maybe ward of foes isn't sticking on topic but Foes can be very nice (if you're good at kiting). You don't need to camp in the ward as such, just think a bit when you play. Foes can be used for relic too.
I would rather gaurdian over blind in practice, and hopefully this'll stay away from the aegis argument too =P.
Now you can run a normal fire ele but also bring Shields up (or put it on the warrior or something). I don't know if many people have spoke about shields up in this thread? That has been used quite a lot vs ranger spike. It can still be used but won't be as effective I guess. People used to chain shields up at one point too.

I think it does. Saying 'it's good because we won halls with it' is ofcourse stupid because bad things can win halls too, so you're using a bad argument for your point. Therefore, people might be less willing to believe your argument and this disbelief might carry on to any future arguments you make, because in the back of their mind they will still think 'he said wrong stuff before'.
Therefore, it hurts your credibility.
And I don't see why it would be a personal attack.

There's a slight problem though. I never said "it's good because we won halls with it".

Re-read this statement, I meant exactly as I said. It hurt my credibility, I guess. People were laughing at me for running the skill on the warrior. I said, it'll work but be my guest and f*ck off if you want. As I had other people who were willing to play.
We played - and we faced endless ammounts of rt spike - so the skill did infact prove itself to be good, and because of the decision, instead of just being a mindless idiot who runs the same old things on the same old char's - it paid off.
I never said the skill is good because we won halls with it. I said it hurt my credibility until we won halls with it. So because your post relied on the fact you thought I said something I didn't, your argument has completely failed.
Instead of trying so hard to prove me wrong about something - don't waste your time. I'm smarter than you, better than you oh and I'm also sexier than you. .

So what are peoples thoughts on other skills? Otherwise this thread might as well just be blind vs aegis...

I wasn't aware this was a competition to prove myself; however, once again you've missed the point. I never said what I post is smart or convincing. He is just extremely stupid. I don't need to be smart to notice that or to comment on it. I suggest you re-read what I've said, which is :
Quote:

I don't have to be smart of convincing, to be smarter than him (he is just stupid). You see, I don't have to do anything at all. Why should I? He doesn't quote me correctly; therefore, he replies to something he thinks I've said when I haven't. The conclusion being - he beats himself in the argument. I don't have to do a damn thing. So when the next pseudo-intelligent troll comes along, take my advice. You also try hard to prove me wrong, beating yourself in the argument because you made the same mistake he did.
The advice (and this just happens to be proving itself to be quite convincing from my point of view):
Quote:
Instead of trying so hard to prove me wrong about something - don't waste your time. I'm smarter than you, better than you oh and I'm also sexier than you. .

Intelligence scale from -10 to 10. Consider myself 0. 10 being smart. -10 being extremely stupid. Now you and the other person trying to attack me are -10. I'm 0. Therefore, technically I'm smarter than you, him and probably the next person to attack me - but I do not consider myself smart. Make sense? I sure as hell hope so, because there's one thing worse than scratching a mans ferrari, the owner being blind and not noticing.
P.S. You're right about the convincing part. I find some people just don't understand a word I'm saying. In my little world I'm insulting the hell out of them. In their world, they don't even see it. I wish I was convincing enough for them to see it.

On your scale, I would not consider myself a -10 TBH.
Whatever. This thread is stupid. I'm going to take your advice and not waste my time on it anymore.

Thread reached a point when the last worthy post was made about a week ago. I cleaned it once, but you started flaming each other again. Its not about blind vs block anymore, but who got the last word. Im closing this.
